Greater Manchester Lancs & South Cumbria Senate

Report back: STPs engagement event

26th September 2017

I thought the event was excellent, really informative

A broad of range of clinical and STP leaders from across the North West came along toclinical leaders from the North West STPs and Senates came along to our engagement event on 12th May to gain an insight into ways of working effectively together and to undertake some professional development at a series of practical workshops.

Feedback from the event was very positive, with the morning workshops particularly well received. These included:

  • Campaigning in a political environment, presented by commentator and political strategist John McTernan and Roger Davidson, Director of Engagement & Communications (Sustainability & Transformation) at NHS England.

  • Anastasia Knox, Research Director at international insight and strategy consultancy Britain Thinks who presented the findings of their research exploring how to communicate with the public and NHS staff about planned changes to local health systems, as set out in the STPs

The morning session on communicating to the public and the political perspective were excellent

Delegates were also provided with an overview of the Cheshire & Merseyside Senate and the Greater Manchester, Lancashire & South Cumbria Senate and of the local STPs.

At the event, we gained very useful feedback from delegates regarding how Senates can support STPs effectively in the future, as well as suggestions on potential topics to cover at future Senate events.
