West Midlands Clinical Senate Walsall Urgent Care Review

15th May 2018

Walsall_Urgent_Care_Svcs_Review_pic.fw.pngThe West Midlands Clinical Senate have published their findings regarding the proposed consolidation of Walsall Urgent Care Services.

The review was undertaken by a mixture of clinicians, patient representatives, commissioners of urgent care services and providers of emergency care.

Significant debate occurred, particularly over impact on patients who lived in Walsall town centre and the capacity of the A&E department at Walsall Manor. The review panel also took into consideration the National review of Urgent Care services which states that patients and the public are often confused by the mix of walk-in centres, minor injuries units and urgent care centres, in addition to numerous GP health centres and surgeries offering varied levels of core and extended service.
