Joining the campaign for better cancer care with Macmillan

14th November 2017

Strawberry_and_choc_cake.pngThe SCN and our Cancer Network were proud to support Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning by hosting their own coffee morning at Preston Business Centre on 29th September – and raising £200.

The network rallied colleagues and teams throughout the building to bake, buy and indulge in some amazing treats - all in support of this fantastic fundraising event for people facing cancer.

Huge thanks to all the bakers and everyone else who got involved. As you can see, there were some spectacular cakes including this chocolate, strawberry and fig cake donated by Hafiza Ugradar from the NHS England Finance team. Almost too perfect to eat, the cake was raffled, along with a beautiful handmade memo board donated by our own Kath Davies from the Palliative and End of Life Care Network.

About Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning

There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer and this figure is set to rise to four million by 2030. One in three of us will get cancer and Macmillan’s goal is to make sure that no one faces cancer alone.

Macmillan_coffee_morning_certificate.jpgThe SCN is proud to support Macmillan in their mission to improve cancer care through medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those affected.

At the time of writing Macmillan's fundraising total from the 2017 World's Biggest Coffee Morning was over £21 million.
