Jason Gladwin - our IT Everyday Hero

14th December 2017

Unsung_Hero_Award_image.pngJason Gladwin the SCN’s Data Analyst Quality Improvement Lead has been shortlisted for ‘IT Everyday Hero’ in the Unsung Hero Awards 2018.

The aim of the awards is to shout loud and proud about the hard work non-medical and non-clinical NHS staff do on a daily basis – work that is often overlooked in favour of doctors and nurses, despite non-medical employees making up nearly half of the workforce.

Jason was nominated by colleagues for the invaluable data and IT support he provides and for always maintaining a positive and cheery disposition, despite a very demanding workload.

Jason’s role at the SCN is invaluable as he manages our Information Portal, a source of useful data to inform health care and commissioning decisions for local populations, available through secured access via our website and Share Point, as well as a variety of toolkits.

He also provides refresher training for the entire North West Coast SCN team on Microsoft packages, including advanced Excel and Visio, helping the team get the best out of their skills and technology to carry out their day to day roles.

Jason’s colleague Melanie Saunders said:

A truly fantastic member of the team, he never fails to keep up our spirits on a stressful day and regularly assists us with any IT shaped issues we are having, over and above his role as data analyst

“Jason goes above the call of duty every day. A truly fantastic member of the team, he never fails to keep up our spirits on a stressful day and regularly assists us with any IT shaped issues we are having, over and above his role as data analyst. No task is too onerous for him; he does it with a smile and normally an amusing anecdote.

“We would all love for Jason to win an award. Maybe this could be the first step to him realising just how much he does for us all.”

Jason will find out if he is the overall award winner of the IT Everyday Hero at an awards ceremony in Manchester on 23rd February 2018. Good luck, Jason, we’re all rooting for you!
