Surprise celebration for Jan Vaughan’s 60th

24th September 2018

Jan_60th_birthday.jpgOur wonderful associate director Jan Vaughan was treated to a surprise celebration last week in honour of her 60th birthday.

All the team came together to celebrate with a traditional afternoon tea, in true tea room style, complete with waitress service, delicious sandwiches and cakes. Jan’s husband Ian and Dr Kieran Murphy, NHS England Medical Director also came along to join in the celebrations.

Jan received a range of gifts including flowers, Pandora earrings and an indulgent champagne afternoon tea at Chester’s famous Grosvenor Hotel. Thanking everyone for their kindness and generosity, she said:

“Thank you all so much for my lovely presents, flowers, cake - and of course my birthday tea. I was really surprised when I opened the door to see the board room turned into a lovely tea room. So much thought and effort had gone into the event - I am really touched by your efforts and thoughtfulness.

“Thank you too for inviting Ian to share in my day. I am really very grateful to work with such a wonderful team.”

Jan’s colleagues and associates are equally thankful to work with such a supportive and committed leader:

Jan has been very supportive of me personally over the last 15 years. Her ability to help and support the team through the many different transformational and organisational changes over the years - which have certainly been many, each with their own unique set of challenges - has made her a very much respected and highly thought-of manager.”

Jan has worked in the North West for many years in a number of clinical areas. She has made an impact on the lives of residents and staff through her work and is 100 percent committed to involving patients in all her workstreams. I have particularly enjoyed working with her in the Cancer Network and CVD Prevention workstreams and look forward to working with her in the coming years.”
